We had a GE washing machine that lasted for at least 25 years. Then we got a Kenmore top loader high efficiency washing machine that had one electronics problem after another.
We replaced it with a front loader Samsung. I am afraid to write it hasn’t had electronic problems (I don’t want to curse myself), but it smells awful (moldy) despite us leaving the door open after washing every load.
We use Biokleen Laundry Liquid, Free & Clear, 150 oz – 300 HE Loads/150 Standard Load.
When we purchased the Samsung, the appliance sales person said washers usually last about 5-7 years before needing replacing. I’d rather have my old fashioned non-electronic, washing machine, although I hate to waste water. When the time comes to replace it, I will look into your suggestion of Speed Queen.
